The day count is exact because it works from real calendar dates, so leap years and month lengths are handled automatically. Weeks are just the day count ÷ 7; the month figure is approximate because months vary in length. Everything is computed in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the count include both the start and end dates?
- By default it gives the gap between the dates, not counting both endpoints. If you need an inclusive count — for example, the number of days you are on holiday — add one to the result.
- Why is the 'months' figure only approximate?
- Months range from 28 to 31 days, so any months-between figure is an approximation unless it lands on exact month boundaries. The day count is the precise figure; treat weeks and months as convenient summaries of it.
