- Why is the count higher than what I see on screen?
- The scan counts every link in the fetched HTML, including menus, footers, and sections you'd only reach by scrolling or expanding. Those hidden-until-needed links add up fast.
- Do lots of external links hurt my SEO?
- Not by themselves — relevant outbound links to good sources are fine and even helpful. The concern is excessive or low-quality outbound linking, which dilutes the page and can look spammy. Relevance matters more than the raw number.
