Any common image format (JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, SVG…)
Convert a WebP to a PNG so it opens in software that still doesn't accept WebP — older editors, some office suites, a few upload forms. PNG is lossless and understood everywhere, which makes it the reliable fallback.
It runs in your browser and keeps transparency: both formats have an alpha channel, so a transparent WebP converts to a transparent PNG with the cut-out intact. Nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
- Why convert to PNG when WebP is smaller?
- Purely for compatibility. WebP is efficient, but some programs, printers, and sites still don't accept it, and PNG opens virtually everywhere. You trade a larger file for something that just works.
- Will the PNG lose any quality?
- The PNG container is lossless, so it adds no new loss. If the source WebP was saved in lossy mode, the PNG simply preserves those existing pixels exactly — it won't restore detail, but it won't degrade it either.
- Can I convert an animated WebP this way?
- This produces a single still PNG, since PNG isn't an animation format. To keep motion, use the Animated WebP to GIF tool instead.
